Welcome to Dr. Thornburg Wellness
Helping Children Grow, Develop & Thrive
Our mission is simple: to help children reach their full potential through nutrition, education, and community service. We are pediatric healthcare professionals—but we are also parents, just like you, committed to supporting families and strengthening our community.
The Nutritional Gap Is Real
Even with our best efforts to provide a healthy diet, many American children are not consuming adequate amounts of key nutrients.
A 2026 NHANES analysis of more than 32,000 U.S. children and adolescents identified significant nutritional gaps involving dietary fiber, omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA),
vitamins A, D and E, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iron and folate—with many inadequacies becoming increasingly prevalent with age.
These gaps matter. Childhood and adolescence are periods of extraordinary physical growth and neurodevelopment. Inadequate intake of essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and other nutrients can affect physical growth, brain development, immune
function, bone mineralization, energy metabolism, and cognitive performance and may limit a child's ability to reach their optimal developmental potential.
Nutrition First. Thoughtful Supplementation When Needed.
For more than 15 years, we have evaluated nutritional supplements for children not only for ingredient quality, but for something equally important: Will children actually take them?
Thousands of children in our pediatric practice have helped us identify products that combine high-quality ingredients with child-tested taste and tolerability.
We have selected and private-labeled the nutraceutical products that best meet our standards, allowing us to make them available directly to families while keeping costs as reasonable as possible.
A Different Kind of Wellness Company
Our goal isn't to profit from selling supplements. Our goal is to help children thrive.
Net proceeds from Dr. Thornburg Wellness are donated to 501(c)(3) organizations working to protect children from exploitation, abuse, and neglect.
Our mission extends to the way we employ people, too. We provide flexible employment opportunities for parents of children with special needs, recognizing that traditional work schedules often don't accommodate the demands of caring for their children.
When you purchase from Dr. Thornburg Wellness, you are doing more than supporting your child's nutrition.
You are helping us support children, families, and the community we all share.
My story.
I always knew I wanted to become a physician and help people experience better health—not just through medical interventions, but by recognizing the importance of integrating mind, body, and spirit within ourselves, our families, and our communities.
That calling has continued to evolve throughout my career, shaped by more than 25 years of caring for children and by raising eight children of my own. My family has been one of my greatest teachers and has deeply influenced the way I think about health, healing, and what children need to thrive.
Throughout my career, I became increasingly passionate about looking beyond symptoms and considering the whole child—nutrition, lifestyle, environment, prevention, and the many other factors that can influence a child’s health and development.
Today, my goal is bigger than any individual practice or product. I want to help parents better understand their options, feel confident asking questions, and have the knowledge they need to make informed decisions for their families.
I believe some of our greatest opportunities to influence lifelong health begin in childhood. My mission is to help give children the strongest possible foundation to grow, develop, and thrive.
Over the years, that approach has gained recognition well beyond my own practice. Parents magazine named me one of the seven most innovative pediatricians in the country, and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir featured my medical practice on Real Money for its approach to providing better healthcare and better outcomes. I was also invited by the American Academy of Pediatrics to speak at its National Conference & Exhibition on better healthcare outcomes.
Teaching and serving my community have also remained important parts of my work. I serve on the faculty of two medical schools and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples. I have also been honored with Collier County’s Heroes Award and a Collier County Sheriff’s Office Recognition Award.
Those accomplishments are meaningful to me, but they are not the destination. They have given me a larger platform for the same purpose that brought me to medicine in the first place: helping children live healthier lives and giving parents the knowledge and confidence to help them get there.
