Let me love you a little more before you are not little anymore

We pick a flower to capture beauty.

A fleeting moment of mystery.

A flower given was one always meant to be.

Without connection, the beauty surrenders its shining moment in the sun.

Withers.

Death.

A commitment to surrender when given.

“I give all so you may take,” says the flower.

As happy then as when it first was born.

As happy at the end as when given.

Rebirth renews.

There is no end.

I wrote this Saturday evening for a friend in pain. I had no idea one of my daughter’s friends would tragically die in a car accident within the hour. Four friends were driving in a residential neighborhood and lost control. The car flipped over. One sadly passed. The other three required emergency care. One is still in the hospital.

We cannot turn the clock back and bring this lovely young lady back. For whatever reason, her time had come. We can take this moment to tell our children we love them. We can remember chaos is but a butterfly’s wing beat away. Life is precious and precarious.

Let me love you a little more before your not little anymore.
